Grapefruit is often regarded as the poor relation of the citrus family, confined to the breakfast table but this new, unique alcoholic drink from Demijohn makes the grapefruit become the king of citrus and places it firmly as an evening tipple.
Developed by two talented gardeners from Wales, Ian and Rosemary Mills, the Grapefruit Vodka has taken six months to be perfected. But it’s been worth the wait as this new vodka liqueur is exceptional. Often touted as being sharp, this Grapefruit Vodka uses its own natural sweetness to balance the fresh citrus excitement that takes place in the mouth on drinking.
It can be drunk as a cooling, elegant aperitif when poured over ice or drunk long with tonic. For something a little different it can be combined with cranberry juice for a classic Sea Breeze cocktail or use in a Bloody Mary cocktail instead of lime and vodka to give it a little twist of something different.
Demijohn Owner Angus Ferguson says: “We already have some spectacular drinks made from most of the other main citrus fruits, so we were keen to find something that could work with the missing fruit, grapefruit.
